Judge Won't Stop Jail Employees From Being Fired

Law360, New York (January 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Eight employees of the District of Columbia Department of Corrections have lost their bid to hold onto their jobs while their employment suit against the department is pending.

Judge Ricardo M. Urbina on Friday shot down the employees’ emergency request for a preliminary injunction ordering D.C. not to terminate them while their case, which alleges violations by the jail of their Fifth Amendment rights to due process, defamation and infliction of emotional distress, moves forward in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia....
