RIM Knocks Posner's Apple-Motorola SEP Injunction Ruling

Law360, New York (May 8, 2013, 7:28 PM EDT) -- Research In Motion Ltd. urged the Federal Circuit on Tuesday to overturn a ruling in the smartphone patent dispute between Motorola Inc. and Apple Inc. that said the owners of standards-essential patents could never seek injunctions on infringing products, arguing that the decision conflicted with U.S. Supreme Court precedent.

The Blackberry maker filed an amicus brief with the appeals court in the patent fight between Google Inc.'s Motorola and Apple, but said it didn't support either company on the merits of their case.
