Unions Tell Tribune Co. Not To Sell Newspapers To Kochs

Law360, New York (May 9, 2013, 6:21 PM EDT) -- A coalition of union groups on Tuesday urged the Tribune Co. not to sell its portfolio of newspapers to the billionaire Koch brothers, criticizing the prospective buyers' conservative and "anti-union" policies.

The California Labor Federation, the AFL-CIO and eight other union organizations sent a letter to Oaktree Capital Management LP President Bruce Karsh, chairman of the Tribune Co.'s board of directors, urging the media company to evaluate all strategic alternatives to selling its newspaper business, including The Los Angeles Times, to David H. and Charles G....
