Siliconware Exits Microchip Patent Fight With Tessera

Law360, New York (May 10, 2013, 4:39 PM ET) -- Siliconware Precision Industries Co. Ltd. has reached a settlement with Tessera Inc. to resolve long-running claims that the company infringed Tessera's semiconductor chip technology patents, according to court documents filed Thursday in a California federal court.

The deal will allow Siliconware to exit Tessera's sprawling patent litigation, iterations of which have been banging around the federal court system and the U.S. International Trade Commission for more than seven years.
