Pa. Supreme Court Takes Over 3rd Judicial Retirement Suit

Law360, Philadelphia (May 13, 2013, 1:59 PM EDT) -- Two days after it heard oral arguments over Pennsylvania's mandatory judicial retirement, the state Supreme Court announced Friday that it would take jurisdiction over the third suit pending in state courts on the matter.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court said in an order that there was “substantial overlap” between the two cases that it already agreed to review using its powers of extraordinary jurisdiction and the third case, which was pending before the state’s Commonwealth Court.
