MGM Faces More Competition For $800M Casino License

Law360, New York (May 13, 2013, 3:23 PM EDT) -- A Greenwood Racing Inc. unit on Friday put itself into a heated battle between MGM Resorts International and Penn National Gaming Inc. for a Maryland gaming license with its own $800 million casino proposal.

Friday saw both Greenwood Racing and Penn file their last-minute bids with the State of Maryland Video Lottery Facility Location Commission for a 3,000-slot-machine license that will allow the winner to build a new casino in Prince George's County, Md., according to separate statements from the companies.
