Pataki, Cuomo Tell NY To Leave Ex-AIG Chief Alone

Law360, New York (May 13, 2013, 4:51 PM ET) -- Former New York Govs. Mario Cuomo and George Pataki went to bat for ex-American International Group Inc. CEO Maurice Greenberg on Monday, urging the state’s attorney general to back down from efforts to bar Greenberg from trading securities or heading a company.

The former governors called Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s ongoing case against Greenberg “morally wrong,” arguing in a Wall Street Journal op-ed that the suit concerns “entirely proper” transactions that had no effect on AIG shareholder equity and should therefore be dismissed.
