Web Activist Swartz's Family Can't Expose Investigator IDs

Law360, New York (May 13, 2013, 7:36 PM EDT) -- A Massachusetts federal judge on Monday refused a request by the family of Internet activist Aaron Swartz to release the names of individuals involved in his investigation and prosecution for the alleged dissemination of millions of restricted academic articles, citing the potential for retaliation.

Swartz committed suicide in January as he faced charges of exceeding his authorized access to digital library JSTOR by using a network at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to obtain and download millions of academic articles available through the subscription service. He...
