NYC Panel OKs $3B Willets Point Development Plan

Law360, New York (May 14, 2013, 5:16 PM EDT) -- A local Queens community board gave its seal of approval Monday night to the $3 billion plan to turn the contaminated Willets Point site into a 5-million-square-foot mixed-use neighborhood developed by Sterling Equities Inc. and Related Cos., a community board representative said Tuesday.

Community Board 7 voted 22-18 to pass a measure to approve the project, which went through the land-use review process once before but has since added plans for a 1.4 million-square-foot mall next to Citi Field, the home for baseball's New York Mets....
