High Court Wants US View On Induced Patent Infringement

Law360, New York (June 24, 2013, 1:13 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday asked for the U.S. government's take on a Federal Circuit decision that expanded liability for induced infringement in patent litigation, in a case involving an Akamai Technologies Inc. Web content delivery patent.

The high court invited the U.S. solicitor general to file a brief expressing the government's view of the issue as the justices consider whether to hear an appeal by Limelight Networks Inc. of the Federal Circuit's sharply divided 6-5 en banc decision from August.
