Singapore Squashes Bug-Control Cartel

Law360, New York (January 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- In Singapore's first cartel enforcement, the country's Competition Commission fined six pest control companies for allegedly rigging bids for termite treatment projects.

On Jan. 9, the commission levied fines totaling about $262,750 in Singapore currency, or about $183,000 in U.S. dollars, against six companies: Aardwolf Pestkare Pte Ltd; Alliance Pest Management Pte Ltd ; Elite Pest Management Pte Ltd; Killem Pest Pte Ltd; PestBusters Pte Ltd; and Rentokil Initial Pte Ltd.
