Atty Says Dewey Claims Hearing Delay Would Be Abusive

Law360, New York (May 23, 2013, 4:21 PM EDT) -- A former partner of Dewey Ballantine LLP — the predecessor of bankrupt Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP — with a pending claim against the firm for outstanding debt has called a proposed hearing delay abusive and unnecessary.

Donald F. Woods Jr. said in a May 16 letter that after he heard that the request for the delay was coming, a delay was inappropriate. He said the hearing was already delayed once before.
