Firm Ordered To Hand Over Disbarred Lawyer's Fees

Law360, New York (January 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A state appeals court has ruled a New Jersey law firm cannot pocket the referral fees owed a disbarred attorney who sent the firm scores of personal injury cases in the months before his license was suspended.

The New Jersey Superior Court appellate judges said the firm, Eichen, Levinson & Crutchlow LLP, could not keep the $81,000 in referral fees it owes disgraced lawyer Kenneth Weiner but must hand them over to a trustee overseeing the attorney's practice.
