EU OKs Syniverse's €550M Mach Buy With Conditions

Law360, New York (May 29, 2013, 12:49 PM EDT) -- The European Union's competition authority has cleared Carlyle Group LP's Syniverse Technologies LLC's proposed €550 million ($712.6 million) purchase of rival Mach SarL after Syniverse agreed to sell off certain lines of business to allay the antitrust regulator's concerns about the deal.

After conducting an in-depth review of the proposed tie-up, the European Commission said in a statement Wednesday that it would allow Tampa, Fla.-based mobile communications company Syniverse to move forward with its planned acquisition of Luxembourg-based Mach, following a promise to make certain concessions....
