Judge Pushes Kodak, Ricoh To Set Patent Dispute Aside

Law360, New York (May 29, 2013, 5:19 PM ET) -- A New York bankruptcy judge on Wednesday urged Eastman Kodak Co. and Ricoh Americas Corp. to reach an agreement to temporarily suspend a dispute over eight printer patents until after confirmation of Kodak's reorganization plan.

At a hearing before U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Allan L. Gropper, attorneys for Kodak asked the judge to stay an adversary proceeding launched in April by Ricoh over the fallen photography icon's alleged prepetition infringement, arguing that the lawsuit violated the automatic stay protecting Chapter 11 debtors.
