Law360, New York (May 29, 2013, 3:37 PM EDT) -- The patent world has been closely tracking the "troll" invasion. Originally introduced to us from Norse mythology and Scandinavian folklore, in literature, trolls have been described as slow-witted, gigantic creatures shunning the light of day and found dwelling in isolated areas, under rocks or mountains, or in caves. Today’s so-called patent trolls often indeed grow into gigantic creatures, but clearly, they cannot be characterized as slow-witted or for that matter, deemed hiding anywhere.
