Monsanto To Work With USDA To Probe Modified Wheat

Law360, New York (June 3, 2013, 6:44 PM EDT) -- Monsanto Co. has launched an investigation in the wake of news that an unapproved strain of its genetically modified wheat was found growing in Oregon, saying it is committed to working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture over the incident.

Monsanto’s announcement Friday comes as the European Union has already advised its members to screen U.S. grains more carefully and some Asian nations, including Japan, have suspended some wheat imports after the USDA revealed the discovery on May 29.
