EEOC Warns Against Bias In Job Recruitment Tests

Law360, New York (January 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Concerned about the rise in discrimination cases stemming from the use of aptitude tests, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has warned employers not to trample on federal anti-discrimination protections when screening prospective recruits.

Just weeks after negotiating a $1.6 million deal with Ford Motor Co. to settle discrimination claims over its nationwide apprentice test, the EEOC has released a fact sheet clarifying employers' obligations under federal workplace laws.
