Plaintiffs In Dismissed Plastics Cartel Case Try Again

Law360, New York (January 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A proposed class comprising direct purchasers of acrylic glass and plastics has filed an amended complaint accusing several chemical companies of price-fixing, barely one month after the judge overseeing the multidistrict litigation dismissed the plaintiffs' consolidated case.

The direct-purchaser plaintiffs filed their second amended consolidated class action complaint under seal on Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

An attorney for a defendant in the case said Wednesday that his client felt the new complaint would not withstand judicial scrutiny....
