DOJ Says It Complied With Procedures In AP Subpoenas

Law360, Los Angeles (June 4, 2013, 8:08 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice told lawmakers that it gave proper notice and followed appropriate legal procedures in its controversial investigation into reporters at the Associated Press, according to a letter sent Tuesday by a deputy assistant attorney general.

The letter comes less than two weeks after House Judiciary Committee Republicans pressed the Justice Department for answers about the investigation, asking whether the department had attempted to limit the scope of its subpoenas or exhausted all other investigative tools before requesting them.
