Ex-News Corp. Exec Brooks Pleads Not Guilty in Hacking Case

Law360, New York (June 5, 2013, 1:30 PM EDT) -- Former News Corp. executive Rebekah Brooks pled not guilty Wednesday in U.K. court to criminal charges over her alleged role in the phone-hacking and bribery scandals that have prompted sweeping reforms in the British press landscape, according to reports.

The former chief executive of Rupert Murdoch's U.K. media branch News International Group Ltd. denied five charges alleging she conspired to hack phones, bribe public officials for stories and impede the investigation that arose following her July 2011 arrest, according to The Guardian.
