SoHo Hotel Owner Sues Insurer, Con Ed For Sandy Losses

Law360, Chicago (June 6, 2013, 6:36 PM EDT) -- The owner of the Trump SoHo New York hotel sued Affiliated FM Insurance Co. and Consolidated Edison Co. of New York LLC in state court Thursday, alleging the insurer has wrongly refused to reimburse losses from Superstorm Sandy and that Con Ed's negligence contributed to costly power outages.

Plaintiff Bayrock/Sapir Organization LLC alleges that from Oct. 29 — the date the massive storm struck Manhattan – through the beginning of November, it lost gross earnings and incurred extra expenses of at least $2.3 million.
