Motorola, Cisco, TWC Pay $490M In TiVo Patent Settlement

Law360, New York (June 7, 2013, 4:32 PM EDT) -- TiVo Inc. announced Friday that it had reached a $490 million settlement with Motorola Mobility Inc., Time Warner Cable Inc. and Cisco Systems Inc. to resolve patent infringement allegations on the eve of trial.

The announcement of the comprehensive deal, which includes ongoing licensing arrangements, came a day after reports that Motorola had reached an agreement to end its fight with TiVo based on undisclosed terms. According to TiVo, Friday's settlement figure raised the total haul from its patent litigation campaign to $1.6 billion.
