Fed. Circ. Quashes Sanctions In Home Depot Patent Case

Law360, New York (June 7, 2013, 7:45 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit on Friday vacated $250,000 in sanctions against a company that filed what a lower court said were frivolous and objectively baseless patent infringement claims against Home Depot USA Inc.

Though the appeals court said it mostly agreed with the trial court's finding — that Precision Links Inc.'s case against Home Depot and supplier USA Products Group, Inc. was meritless and brought in bad faith — it said the court was too tough on Precision regarding one aspect of claims construction.
