Street View Legally Snooped Wi-Fi, Google Tells 9th Circ.

Law360, San Francisco (June 10, 2013, 6:03 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. urged the Ninth Circuit on Monday to reverse a lower court decision allowing class claims that its Street View mapping cars violated the federal Wiretap Act when they collected data from Wi-Fi networks, arguing that unencrypted Wi-Fi signals are not protected from snooping under the act.
