Sports Leagues Urge 3rd Circ. To Uphold NJ Wagering Ban

Law360, New York (June 10, 2013, 6:21 PM EDT) -- Professional sports leagues and the NCAA on Friday urged the Third Circuit to uphold a district court ruling that a federal ban on state-sponsored sports gambling blocks New Jersey from authorizing such wagering in the state, saying the ban doesn't commandeer state powers.
