Georgia-Pacific's $1.5B Buckeye Buy Draws Antitrust Scrutiny

Law360, New York (June 11, 2013, 1:36 PM EDT) -- Federal antitrust regulators have requested further information from Georgia-Pacific LLC as part of a review of the company's proposed $1.5 billion purchase of specialty fiber maker Buckeye Technologies Inc., Buckeye said Tuesday.

Memphis, Tenn.-based Buckeye said in a statement that Georgia-Pacific had received a second request in connection with a review by the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice that sought additional information and documents regarding the non-wovens business.
