Taiwanese Co. Slaps IBM With Infringement Suit

Law360, New York (January 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Taiwan-based thermal solutions provider is hot under the collar over IBM Corp.'s alleged infringement of a single patent covering a heat-dissipation device used in computers and other electronic products.

Tuesday, CpuMate filed a complaint against IBM in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, seeking a permanent injunction and damages.

IBM incorporates infringing heat dissipating devices in its computers, including the IBM eServer xSeries 200 server, according to the plaintiff.
