ITC Will Probe Samsung, Others Over Music-Sharing Patents

Law360, New York (June 13, 2013, 1:38 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission voted Wednesday to investigate allegations that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., LG Electronics Inc. and others are importing products into the U.S. that infringe patents for music-sharing technology.

The trade body will look into a complaint filed last month by Black Hills Media LLC accusing Samsung, LG, Sharp Corp., Toshiba Corp. and Panasonic Corp. of violating Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by shipping televisions, smartphones and other electronics that use its patented system for sharing media across multiple platforms....
