Pa. Natural Resources Chief Forced Out By Governor

Law360, Philadelphia (June 13, 2013, 3:29 PM EDT) -- Pennsylvania’s secretary of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources was forced to resign Thursday, just days after environmental advocates sent a letter to Gov. Tom Corbett decrying the department’s silence over plans to allow natural gas drilling in a northern Pennsylvania state forest.

Corbett asked for and received the resignation of Secretary Richard Allan, who had been appointed to the position by Corbett near the beginning of his term in March 2011, according to a release from the governor’s office.
