Los Angeles Plans 1st Major Zoning Reform Since 1946

Law360, Los Angeles (June 13, 2013, 3:52 PM EDT) -- Los Angeles officials on Wednesday announced the launch of a five-year endeavor to streamline the city's zoning code, the first time the nation's second-largest city has undergone such a zoning reform since 1946.

In a short video posted on the website Recode.la, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa said city officials were soliciting public input on the reforms and wanted to allow the city's numerous neighborhoods to keep their own character, while cutting down on red tape.
