Amazon Strikes $300M Fla. Warehouse Plan With Tax Deal

Law360, New York (June 14, 2013, 3:28 PM EDT) -- Online retail giant Amazon.com Inc. has agreed to collect Florida sales taxes to jump-start a $300 million plan to build warehouses in the state, the company and Gov. Rick Scott announced Thursday.

The deal ends several months of negotiations with the Florida Department of Revenue and means that Amazon will begin collecting taxes once it has a physical presence in Florida, per state law.
