Senate Dem Floats Bill To Limit Scope Of NSA Surveillance

Bernie Sanders, D-Vt., introduced a bill late Thursday seeking to put limits on the National Security Agency's and the FBI's ability to track Americans' cellphone calls by preventing authorities from tracking individuals who are not clearly tied to a terrorism suspect.

SB 1168 would amend a provision in the so-called USA Patriot Act so as to eliminate a widely held presumption in the law that people “known to” a suspect are relevant to an anti-terrorism investigation, Sanders said in a statement Thursday.
