Mining Co. Asks 7th Circ. To Pass On EEOC Conciliation Case

Law360, New York (June 19, 2013, 8:29 PM EDT) -- Mach Mining LLC on Wednesday urged the Seventh Circuit not to take up the U.S. Equal Employment Commission's appeal over whether courts can review its conciliation efforts, saying the appeal wouldn't hasten the resolution of the agency's sex bias suit against the company.

In a response brief to the EEOC's petition for interlocutory review of the issue, the company asserts that the agency is simply trying to avoid its discovery obligations in the lawsuit to turn over information about its prelitigation settlement demands.
