Deals Rumor Mill: Vodafone, KKR, SunGard

By Karlee Weinmann (June 19, 2013, 2:09 PM EDT) -- British mobile giant Vodafone PLC is considering throwing a $10 billion takeover offer at top German cable operator Kabel Deutschland Holding AG as it stares down a potential bid war with rival suitor Liberty Global PLC, Reuters reported on Tuesday. Vodafone had contemplated padding its initial bid before Liberty entered the fray, but a showdown between the companies could push Vodafone to act more quickly and aggressively. Kabel Deutschland is Germany's top cable provider, and with 8.5 million subscribers has fashioned itself an attractive takeover target for other telecommunications companies. Colorado-based Liberty, run by business mogul John C. Malone, already owns Germany's second-biggest cable operator....
