21 States Warn EPA Over 'Sue To Settle' Tactics

Law360, New York (June 20, 2013, 4:11 PM ET) -- Attorneys general from 21 states on Tuesday urged the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency not to negotiate with groups that have threatened the agency with lawsuits over its failure to finalize emissions regulations for power plants.

The letter, signed by the attorneys general for states including Texas, Florida, Virginia, Michigan, Arkansas, Nebraska and Ohio, challenges the actions of 12 other states and cities and three major environmental groups that have filed notices of intent to sue the EPA over the regulations.
