FedEx, UPS Hit With Surcharge Price-Fixing Claims

Law360, New York (January 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A proposed class action launched Wednesday by ABM International Inc. is accusing a slew of shipping companies, including Federal Express Corp. and United Parcel Service Inc., of conspiring to fix fuel surcharge prices in order to reap illegal profits.

The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, accuses numerous regional trucking freight carriers of fixing the prices of fuel surcharges applied to less-than-truckload freight shippers.
