Panasonic, Toshiba Face ITC Probe Over Display Patents

Law360, New York (June 20, 2013, 1:07 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission launched an investigation Thursday into allegations that Panasonic Corp., Toshiba Corp. and others are importing televisions, tablets and other devices that infringe patented technology for digital displays.

The trade body will look into a complaint filed last month by Graphic Properties Holdings Inc., a licensing entity that inherited the intellectual property of bankrupt Silicon Graphics Inc., that accused the electronics companies of violating Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, which bars the import of products that infringe American patents....
