Calif. Appeals Court Says Chevron ZIP Code Collection OK

Law360, New York (June 21, 2013, 3:52 PM EDT) -- A California appeals court on Thursday backed the dismissal of a putative class action claiming Chevron USA Inc. illegally collected ZIP codes from gas station customers who used credit cards, saying a statutory exemption allows the collection of such information for fraud-prevention purposes.
