NRC Proposes $650K Fine For Entergy Alert Delays

Law360, New York (January 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has proposed a $650,000 fine to Entergy Corp. for failure to complete the installation of a new emergency notification system with backup power at the Indian Point nuclear power plant in New York.

The proposed fine, 10 times the base-level fine for this type of violation, stemmed from Entergy's continued failure to meet key deadlines, NRC said.
