High Court To Weigh Union-Employer Neutrality Agreements

Law360, New York (June 24, 2013, 12:37 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday agreed to consider whether certain agreements between unions and employers setting ground rules for union organizing campaigns, including a dog track owner's agreement to remain neutral on unionization, run afoul of federal labor law.

The high court granted the petition of Unite Here Local 355, which is contesting the Eleventh Circuit's revival of an employee's suit claiming that Mardi Gras Gaming's neutrality agreement with the union violated the Labor Management Relations Act.
