Surveillance Tech Co. Accused Of Enabling Bahraini Torture

Law360, New York (June 24, 2013, 5:14 PM ET) -- An international economic watchdog agreed Friday to review a privacy group’s human rights complaint against a British company it alleges sold surveillance technology to the Bahraini government that led to the arrest and torture of pro-democracy activists.

The U.K. National Contact Point, an organization that promotes corporate standards laid out by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, said Privacy International's complaint accusing Gamma International UK Ltd. of breaching those standards warranted further examination.
