ConAgra Settles Probe Over Worker Ammonia Hazards

Law360, New York (June 25, 2013, 6:57 PM EDT) -- ConAgra Foods Inc. has agreed to put measures in place at five of its plants to protect workers from the potentially hazardous chemical anhydrous ammonia, settling claims arising from an inspection by the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA said Monday.

Under the terms of the deal, ConAgra has agreed to enclose older low-pressure receivers used as part of the refrigeration systems at five of its facilities in Idaho, Arkansas, Missouri and Ohio, as well as implementing other controls, according to the...
