Ex-Sandisk Exec Who Aided Tipping Probe Gets Probation

Law360, New York (June 25, 2013, 7:37 PM EDT) -- A former Sandisk Corp. employee who cooperated in the insider trading investigation against research analyst John Kinnucan was sentenced to probation in New York federal court Tuesday.

Donald Barnetson, a former senior director in Sandisk’s OEM business, will also pay a $4,000 fine under a sentence imposed by U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood. Barnetson pled guilty in February 2012 to conspiring to commit securities fraud and agreed to cooperate with the federal government in its prosecution of Kinnucan, an analyst whose one-man firm sold confidential inside...
