Law360, New York (November 17, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- Some of the biggest names in electronics, including DirecTV, Echostar, Mitsubishi, JVC, Pioneer, and Sony, have been slapped with a lawsuit by a tiny Illinois company that alleges the technology giants infringed its patent for digital set-top box satellite receivers.
The suit, filed by Orbsak LLC, claims that the companies have made billions from sales of television programming receivers that infringe a patent granted to inventor Samuel A. Kassatly in 2002 and licensed to Orbsak later that year.
