Goodwin Procter Lays Off 10 Attys, Closes San Diego Office

Law360, New York (June 26, 2013, 5:26 PM EDT) -- Goodwin Procter LLP will shutter its 6-year-old San Diego office that focused on transactional work in life sciences and biotechnology, laying off 10 attorneys including four partners in the process, the firm told Law360 Wednesday.

Stressing its decision was not motivated by “financial considerations,” the firm said it would close the office Sept. 30, as it plans to expand its three other California offices, according to a firm-wide memo sent Tuesday by chairman Regina M. Pisa and managing partner Robert S. Insolia.
