Senate Antitrust Chair Urges FTC Action On 'Patent Trolls'

Amy Klobuchar, chairwoman of the Senate’s antitrust subcommittee, urged the Federal Trade Commission on Wednesday to consider immediate enforcement actions against so-called patent trolls that target retailers, nonprofits and other end users of common technology like Wi-Fi.

Klobuchar, D-Minn., applauded FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramirez's recent vow to pursue a broad investigation into the tactics of so-called patent trolls, and urged the FTC to act quickly to launch the probe, known as a Section 6(b) study.
