7th Circ. To Consider Court Review Of EEOC Conciliation

Law360, New York (July 1, 2013, 5:09 PM EDT) -- The Seventh Circuit on Friday agreed to review a midcase appeal in the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's sex bias lawsuit against Mach Mining LLC, which asks the appeals court to determine whether the agency's conciliation efforts are subject to judicial review.

The appeals court granted the agency's petition for an interlocutory appeal in its lawsuit accusing the coal mine operator of bias against women in hiring. The court's order did not provide its reasons for agreeing to hear the appeal.
