2 Attys Lose Bid To Toss NYC Housing Bribery Charges

Law360, Chicago (July 02, 2013, 8:00 PM ET) -- A federal judge on Tuesday refused to dismiss an indictment against two lawyers for their part in an alleged kickback scheme in which contractors and developers paid for work on New York City public housing projects.

In a 19-page opinion, U.S. District Judge Nina Gershon rejected challenges to the money laundering and wire fraud charges against Lee Hymowitz and Michael Freeman, who ran their own law firm and allegedly conspired with a developer and former housing official Wendell Walters to take bribes from contractors.
