Fla. Cities Sue Broward County Over $100M Waste Fund

Law360, Miami (July 02, 2013, 10:01 PM ET) -- Several Florida cities sued Broward County on Friday for allegedly breaching a 25-year-old trash collection agreement by failing to distribute more than $100 million in cash and assets to participating municipalities under the deal.

In a suit filed in Florida's Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court, 11 municipalities accused the county of trying to claim for itself the assets owned by the Broward Solid Waste Disposal District, which was created by a 1986 agreement between the county and many of its cities for solid waste disposal services....
